55- One of Those Kinda Days

The week has come and gone (tick-tock)

Case files and numbers and mid-term exams

My brain is exhausted, wrung out like a sock

My train of thought needs mechanical repair;

It seems I’ve forgotten something important,

It fell through the cracks in my chair-

Fifty-five words, lassoed and wrangled

Until even my eyeteeth are tangled.

_______

Happy (almost) Friday! Got 55 words? Better use 'em and then go tell G-Man about it.

I know, right? Usually I have a little stash of 55's scheduled to post, but this week I had exactly 4 minutes to extract one from what's left of my mental jewelry.

I sorta threw the picture out as a distraction from the splattered verse.

@EO: Time o' the month? *snort* That's kinda funny, actually. It usually hits me smack dab in the middle of a climbing expedition or backpacking trip. It's gotten to the point where I just laugh and shoot iron pills like they're rock candy.

Nah, this week's mayhem is a direct result of missing critical classes in order to attend Dad's memorial service. I returned home from the east coast after 3 solid days of flying, just in time to meet deadlines at work and realize I had mid-term exams I hadn't prepped for. Grim.

But, hey. It's Friday, right? It's all good.

amazing you were able to write any thing at all with what you had going on in your life, and by the way it is a really good 55er.

I hope your coming week is peaceful and serene and you aced your exams.
Blessing for your father.

Cheers,
Joanny
